My LIFE is a class.
These are modern day lynchings
This young man’s name i s Cameron, he’s from the same town I live in. There are people who are trying to write it off by saying the cop felt threatened… like that’s reason to empty the chamber of your gun (according to a friend of mine, who lives in Village East & witnessed the incident). Cameron is a friend of a friend and I have never met him, but I trust the judgement of the people defending him.
I’m disgusted that there are people from our town who are trying to assassinate the character of this young man in an attempt to make their selves feel better about the situation. It’s sad when you hear about something like this happening, but it’s completely disheartening when it happens to a young man from your town, from the same school you graduated from. I haven’t even been on Facebook because my feed is flooded with people giving their opinions on this situation, that they don’t have all of the details for. They are being extremely disrespectful to the family and to Cam.
Cam was a freshman honor student at my old highschool, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, & who was a victim of police brutality. A lot of people, the state police included, are saying the officer was black, yet I’ve seen a few eye witnesses say he was white. Some say he had a gun, or it was found “near” him, & others say he had nothing. Either way, Why shoot to kill ?
This is all very fishy, but I do have to commend the media on not dismissing the whole situation or participating in the character assasination. However, it’s pathetic that the character assassination is coming from the public, The Houma police have refused to elaborate on the situation, & have given very cut & dry answers when questioned. Others are calling it a freak accident, as if you “accidentally” shoot someone 3-4 times.
This whole thing makes me question the judgement of a lot of people I know, and quite frankly it disgusts me that people I consider acquaintances & family have reacted the way they have. It puts things into perspective regarding how not only the media, but society reacts to situations like this when they happen at home.
If you haven’t seen this, it’s gives a whole new perspective
